ADHA Industry Engagement Workshop on Secure Messaging
09/12/2016 @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm
As advised by ADHA CEO Tim Kelsey at the MSIA Summit recently, ADHA is working with the MSIA to engage with industry to improve the scale and usability of secure messaging for point to point transfer of clinical documents. Interoperability between systems will be a major objective of the program.
ADHA has requested the MSIA to assist by bringing industry together to co-design a national solution that will see an increasing use of electronic messages and removal of fax machines from clinical practices. Members are invited to attend a full day workshop in order to:
- Understand objectives of the program
- Agree the major roadblocks to achieving sustainable and scalable use of secure messaging 3. Develop action plans to address the identified issues.
- Canvas potential projects for early adoption in FY16/17 Participation is strongly encouraged from software development organisations that have an interest in secure messaging and clinical systems encompassing hospitals, diagnostic services, primary care, specialist and allied health.
Industry views – and ideally an industry position on a way forward – will be taken to a Program Board overseeing ADHA’s work in this area. The Program Board includes two MSIA reps, healthcare providers and government reps. It is intended that this meeting will set the agenda for the work program to be conducted over the next six months, which the Program Board will recommend to Tim Kelsey.
The workshop will be hosted by Bettina McMahon, Executive General Manager, Government and Industry Collaboration and Adoption, ADHA who is overseeing the program on Tim’s behalf.
ADHA will meet the cost of airfares for up to two interstate participants per organisation.
